Tulane Engineers Without Borders ended the academic year strongly, gearing up for our assessment trip to Sokode-Ando, Ghana this August. Our travel team has worked diligently throughout the summer planning tests and meetings, crafting community surveys, and gathering materials needed for data collection while on our trip. We have worked closely our NGO partner, HCDP Ghana, to foster healthy relationships with the community and determine the best data collection methods for our time there. Our travel team consists of five students ranging all grades, one faculty advisor, and our responsible engineer in charge. The team’s travel dates are slated for August 5 through August 12.

February 2024

As of February 2024, the Tulane University’s chapter of Engineers Without Borders has been rebuilt and reestablished from just several members to upwards of 30. Our chapter has closed out its previous project in Laquigo, Ecuador and has entered the 2023/2024 academic year with hopes of finding a community need. TEWB found the promising application for the community in Sokode-Ando, Ghana and applied and got approved for a new project at the beginning of 2024. As of today we have officially launched the project and are in the feasibility stages, starting to plan our assessment trip for our team to travel. We are optimistic with the outcome of this assessment trip and have already had several calls with EWB representatives and our NGO partner, HCPD Ghana. Our community representative has shared our recents developments with the residents of Sokode- Ando and have reignited hope in the community.
